Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ยฝ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup frozen peas (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  3. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked beef and onions, cooked noodles, cream of mushroom soup, milk, 1ยฝ cups of shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir in frozen peas if using.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining ยฝ cup of cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25โ€“30 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom if preferred.
  • Add diced carrots or celery for extra vegetables.
