Description

Black Pepper Chicken Stir-Fry is a quick and flavorful dish with tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a bold black pepper sauce, perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • For the sauce: 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar), 1 tbsp water
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken strips with cornstarch, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Stir-fry 2โ€“3 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and add freshly cracked black pepper.
  5. Mix in the sauce ingredients (soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, water). Stir well and cook 1โ€“2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
