Start your morning with this Cheese Crust Breakfast Pizza! A hearty, cheesy base topped with eggs, breakfast sausage, and a sprinkle of fresh herbs makes it a delicious and filling breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- ยฝ lb (225 g) breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
- ยฝ cup shredded cheddar (for topping)
- ยผ cup red onion, diced (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC).
- On a greased baking sheet, spread the 2 cups mozzarella and 1 cup cheddar cheese evenly to form the cheese crust.
- Bake cheese crust for 5โ7 minutes until melted and slightly golden.
- Remove from oven and carefully crack eggs on top. Sprinkle cooked sausage, additional mozzarella and cheddar, red onion, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Return to oven and bake 8โ10 minutes until eggs are set and cheese is bubbly.
- Slice and serve hot, garnished with extra herbs if desired.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the pizza for 1โ2 minutes at the end.
- Customize toppings with bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach.
- Use pre-cooked breakfast sausage to save time.
