Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- ยฝ medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or thawed frozen)
- ยฝ tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (e.g., rotisserie)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (preferably sharp)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sautรฉ onion until translucent, about 2โ3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broccoli and Italian seasoning; cook for 2โ3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Stir in orzo and cook for 1 minute to toast slightly.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until orzo is tender, about 10โ12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add shredded chicken and Worcestershire sauce; stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm.
