Ingredients

Brownies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Coffee Frosting

  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar

Chocolate Topping

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix melted butter, cocoa powder, sugar, espresso powder, eggs, vanilla, salt, and baking powder until smooth. Fold in flour.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 20โ€“25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  4. For the frosting: dissolve instant coffee in cream. Beat together with butter, salt, and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies.
  5. For chocolate topping: melt chocolate with cream over low heat or in a microwave until smooth. Pour over frosted brownies and spread evenly.
