Description

Deliciously comforting chicken pillows filled with creamy chicken and green onions, baked to golden perfection, and served with a rich and creamy Parmesan sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • ยผ cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 (8 oz) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
  • ยผ cup (60g) melted butter
  • 1 cup (60g) Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) butter
  • ยผ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups (480ml) chicken broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • ยฝ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, green onions, salt, and pepper.
  3. Unroll crescent rolls and fill each triangle with the chicken mixture, then roll up to form pillows.
  4. Brush melted butter over the pillows and coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake for 18โ€“22 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Meanwhile, melt 4 tablespoons butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux.
  7. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, whisking continuously until smooth and thickened.
  8. Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and black pepper.
  9. Serve chicken pillows warm with creamy Parmesan sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • Can prepare pillows ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder or paprika to the filling for extra flavor.
