Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked & diced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 8 ounces orzo pasta
- 2 celery stalks, finely diced
- 2 carrots, finely diced
- ยฝ yellow onion, finely diced
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ยฝ cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
- โ cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sautรฉ onions, celery, and carrots until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add diced chicken, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook for 2โ3 minutes until heated through.
- Stir in flour and remaining butter to create a roux. Cook for 1โ2 minutes.
- Gradually add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring continuously until sauce thickens.
- Add orzo pasta and chicken bouillon powder. Cook, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender, about 10โ12 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
