Description

Creamy Herb Chicken & Basmati Rice is a comforting one-pan meal packed with flavor. Juicy chicken breasts are cooked with aromatic herbs, garlic, and onions, then simmered with basmati rice in a creamy Parmesan sauce for a complete dinner in one dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breasts, boneless skinless
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and sear until golden on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the same pan and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, rosemary, thyme, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add basmati rice and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return chicken to the pan, cover, and cook for 15–20 minutes until rice is tender and chicken is cooked through.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce is creamy and well combined.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine before adding the chicken broth.
  • Use low-sodium chicken broth to control salt levels.
  • Optional: add vegetables like peas or spinach for a complete one-pan meal.
