Description
Creamy Herb Chicken & Basmati Rice is a comforting one-pan meal packed with flavor. Juicy chicken breasts are cooked with aromatic herbs, garlic, and onions, then simmered with basmati rice in a creamy Parmesan sauce for a complete dinner in one dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts, boneless skinless
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and sear until golden on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the same pan and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, rosemary, thyme, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add basmati rice and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to the pan, cover, and cook for 15–20 minutes until rice is tender and chicken is cooked through.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce is creamy and well combined.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine before adding the chicken broth.
- Use low-sodium chicken broth to control salt levels.
- Optional: add vegetables like peas or spinach for a complete one-pan meal.
