Description
Crispy Chicken Taquitos are golden, crunchy, and filled with a creamy, cheesy chicken mixture. Perfect for appetizers, snacks, or easy weeknight dinners, these taquitos are simple to make and sure to please the whole family.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great!)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ยฝ cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- ยผ cup salsa (your favorite)
- ยฝ tsp garlic powder
- ยฝ tsp chili powder
- ยฝ tsp ground cumin
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- Cooking spray or neutral oil for brushing
- Optional toppings: fresh cilantro, sour cream, avocado, extra cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease.
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, salsa, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Place 2โ3 tablespoons of the mixture on each tortilla and roll tightly. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Place taquitos seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush with oil or spray with cooking spray.
- Bake 15โ20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve with optional toppings like cilantro, sour cream, avocado, or extra cheese.

- Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2 minutes, watching carefully.
- Taquitos can also be fried if preferred for a crunchier texture.
