Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place chicken pieces into the crock pot and pour the sauce over the top, coating all pieces evenly.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6โ7 hours or HIGH for 3โ4 hours until chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the crock pot about 30 minutes before serving to thicken the sauce.
- Serve over steamed rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
