Description

This Crock Pot Turkey Breast is tender, flavorful, and easy to prepare. The herb butter rub infuses the turkey with aromatic herbs and garlic, while the slow-cooked gravy makes a perfect complement.


Ingredients

  • 4 lb bone-in turkey breast (boneless will work)
  • 1 large onion, sliced thick
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ยฝ tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • ยฝ tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • ยฝ tsp pepper
  • ยฝ tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2โ€“3 tsp salt, adjust as desired
  • For the gravy: 2 cups drippings from slow cooker (add broth if needed), ยผ cup butter, ยผ cup flour, salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Prepare the herb butter by mixing melted butter, orange zest, sage, thyme, garlic, pepper, rosemary, oregano, and salt.
  2. Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey breast.
  3. Place sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker and set the turkey on top.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6โ€“8 hours or until turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC).
  5. Remove turkey and keep warm.
  6. For the gravy, pour drippings into a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Slice turkey and serve with gravy.

Notes

  • Boneless turkey breast will cook faster, adjust time accordingly.
  • Leftover turkey can be used in sandwiches or salads.
  • Gravy can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
