Description
This Crock Pot Turkey Breast is tender, flavorful, and easy to prepare. The herb butter rub infuses the turkey with aromatic herbs and garlic, while the slow-cooked gravy makes a perfect complement.
Ingredients
- 4 lb bone-in turkey breast (boneless will work)
- 1 large onion, sliced thick
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Zest of 1 orange
- ยฝ tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- ยฝ tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, freshly minced
- ยฝ tsp pepper
- ยฝ tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2โ3 tsp salt, adjust as desired
- For the gravy: 2 cups drippings from slow cooker (add broth if needed), ยผ cup butter, ยผ cup flour, salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the herb butter by mixing melted butter, orange zest, sage, thyme, garlic, pepper, rosemary, oregano, and salt.
- Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey breast.
- Place sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker and set the turkey on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6โ8 hours or until turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC).
- Remove turkey and keep warm.
- For the gravy, pour drippings into a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Slice turkey and serve with gravy.
Notes
- Boneless turkey breast will cook faster, adjust time accordingly.
- Leftover turkey can be used in sandwiches or salads.
- Gravy can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
