This Crockpot BBQ Chicken recipe is an easy, flavorful way to make tender, juicy pulled chicken. Slow-cooked in a smoky-sweet BBQ sauce with a hint of spices, itโs perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or serving over rice.
Ingredients
- 4โ6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (18 oz) bottle BBQ sauce (smoky or sweet)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Hamburger buns, for serving (optional)
- Coleslaw, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the crockpot and top with chopped onion and minced garlic.
- In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6โ7 hours or HIGH for 3โ4 hours, until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
- Remove chicken and shred with two forks, then return to the sauce and mix well.
- Serve warm on hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
