Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) noodles (spaghetti, udon, or rice noodles)
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced
  • ยผ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • ยผ cup brown sugar
  • ยฝ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • ยฝ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ยฝ cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Add garlic and ginger. Cook for 30โ€“60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and hoisin sauce.
  6. Pour sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until sauce thickens.
  8. Add cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Stir in red pepper flakes if using.
  10. Top with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
