Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared from about 3 large potatoes)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
- Add frozen mixed vegetables, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
- Transfer beef mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the beef mixture and dot with butter.
- Optional: sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.

- Use leftover mashed potatoes to save time.
- Optional: add a layer of gravy or cream sauce for extra richness.
