Description

These Frosted Coffee Brownies are rich, fudgy, and infused with coffee flavor, topped with a creamy coffee frosting for the perfect caffeinated dessert indulgence.


Ingredients

  • Brownies:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons coffee extract or 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Coffee Frosting:
  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and mix in coffee extract or instant coffee. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in melted butter-coffee mixture.
  4. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Cool completely before frosting.
  7. For frosting: In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, butter, instant coffee, and enough heavy cream to reach spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies.
  8. Cut into squares and serve.

  • Adjust coffee amount based on desired intensity of coffee flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature.
