Description
Garlic Parmesan Focaccia is a soft, airy, and flavorful homemade bread topped with olive oil, garlic, herbs, and Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a side dish, sandwich bread, or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian herbs or dried rosemary
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 45–60 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer dough to an oiled baking pan and stretch to fit.
- Press dimples into the surface with your fingers.
- Brush with olive oil, sprinkle garlic, herbs, Parmesan, and flaky salt.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the dough rise overnight in the fridge.
- Add mozzarella for a cheesier version.
- Best served warm.
