These Jalapeño Cheddar Turkey Burgers are packed with bold flavors from fresh jalapeños, cheddar cheese, and cilantro. Juicy, tender, and perfect for grilling or stovetop cooking, served with buns and your favorite toppings for a delicious weeknight or weekend meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- ½ cup finely diced onion (white, red, or yellow)
- ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped (leave seeds for extra heat)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika (sweet or smoked)
- Juice of ½ lime (about ½ tbsp)
- ½ to 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- For Serving: 6 hamburger buns, guacamole, sliced cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, tomato slices, lettuce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, paprika, lime juice, cheddar, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the mixture into 6 evenly sized patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Toast hamburger buns if desired.
- Assemble burgers with buns, cooked patties, guacamole, cheese slices, tomato, and lettuce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust jalapeño amount to control spiciness.
- Ground turkey can be swapped with chicken or beef if preferred.
