Description
Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is a rich and cheesy baked dish made with seasoned ground beef, sautรฉed onions and peppers, and a creamy blend of provolone, mozzarella, and cream cheese. It delivers all the classic Philly flavors in a simple, keto-friendly casserole.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 large bell peppers, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell peppers and sautรฉ until softened. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for 1โ2 minutes.
- Lower heat and mix in cream cheese until fully melted and combined.
- Return sautรฉed vegetables to the skillet and mix well.
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish. Top with provolone slices and shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 15โ20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms to the vegetable mix.
- Serve on its own for a low-carb meal or with cauliflower rice.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
