Description
One-Pan Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sausage Rice is a flavorful, easy weeknight meal with smoky sausage, tender rice, and a delicious barbecue sauce glaze, ready in under 40 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked long grain rice
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions or parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until lightly browned.
- Add chopped onion and garlic, sautรฉ until fragrant and softened, about 3โ4 minutes.
- Stir in uncooked rice, coating it with the oil and sausage flavors.
- Add chicken broth, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20โ25 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley and serve warm.
