Description

Puppy Chow Bars are a fun, no-bake treat with chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallows, and Rice Chex cereal โ€” perfect for parties, snacks, or dessert bars.


Ingredients

  • 7 cups Rice Chex cereal (start with 5 cups and check consistency)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup (ยฝ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter, can use salted
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup (31 g) confectioners’ sugar


Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Add mini marshmallows to the chocolate mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  3. Gently fold in Rice Chex cereal until fully coated. Add more cereal if needed to reach desired consistency.
  4. Press mixture into a greased or parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan.
  5. Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar over the top while still slightly warm, if desired, and gently press it in.
  6. Let cool completely at room temperature or in the fridge until set. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of salt or a sprinkle of cocoa powder to the chocolate mixture.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the fridge for longer shelf life.
  • Mini marshmallows can be replaced with regular marshmallows cut into small pieces.
