Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, parsley), chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, and beaten egg until combined.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in shredded cheese and chopped herbs.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40โ45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use any combination of your favorite cheeses and herbs.
- For a crispier crust, brush the top with a little melted butter before baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
