Description

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is a simple, flavorful dish where tender chicken is cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a hands-off weeknight meal served over rice or noodles.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • ยผ teaspoon salt
  • ยผ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • ยผ cup ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • ยผ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water (optional)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and black pepper and place in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour sauce over chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4โ€“5 hours or HIGH for 2โ€“3 hours, until chicken is cooked through.
  5. If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch and water and stir into the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for an additional 10โ€“15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
