Ingredients

  • For the Spaghetti:
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 4 quarts water
  • 2 tbsp salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • For the Garlic Bread:
  • 1 loaf Italian bread (about 24 inches)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Bring water and salt to a boil. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sautรฉ until fragrant.
  3. Add cooked spaghetti, tossing to coat. Stir in parsley and Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Slice Italian bread lengthwise.
  5. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread butter mixture on bread. Bake for 12โ€“15 minutes until golden. Slice and serve with spaghetti.

  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp to the spaghetti for extra protein.
