Ingredients
- For the Spaghetti:
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 4 quarts water
- 2 tbsp salt, plus more to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- For the Garlic Bread:
- 1 loaf Italian bread (about 24 inches)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Bring water and salt to a boil. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sautรฉ until fragrant.
- Add cooked spaghetti, tossing to coat. Stir in parsley and Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Slice Italian bread lengthwise.
- Mix butter, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread butter mixture on bread. Bake for 12โ15 minutes until golden. Slice and serve with spaghetti.
Notes
- Add grilled chicken or shrimp to the spaghetti for extra protein.
- Broil garlic bread for 1โ2 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Best served immediately while warm.
