Description
Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake is a fun, flavor-packed twist on traditional sushi. Layers of sushi rice, spicy salmon, and creamy sauce are baked to perfection and garnished with nori and green onions.
Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked sushi rice
- 2.5 cups water
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skinless and diced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions, plus extra for garnish
- 1 sheet nori, cut into small strips
- Optional: tobiko for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then spread evenly in the prepared dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine diced salmon, mayonnaise, Sriracha, sesame oil, and chopped green onions.
- Spread the salmon mixture evenly over the rice layer.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and slightly golden on top.
- Remove from oven and garnish with nori strips, extra green onions, and tobiko if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust Sriracha to control spice level.
- Use fresh salmon for best flavor.
- This dish can be served with pickled ginger or soy sauce for extra taste.
