Description

This Dump-and-Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole is a quick, cheesy, and hearty dinner that combines pasta, chicken, marinara sauce, and melted cheese all in one dish.


Ingredients

  • 1½ cups uncooked rotini pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1¼ cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup turkey ham or turkey pepperoni (optional)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine uncooked pasta, cooked chicken, marinara sauce, water or broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Top with shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, and drizzle with olive oil or melted butter.
  5. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until pasta is tender and top is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use any type of cooked chicken you have on hand, including rotisserie chicken.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or use pepperoni.
  • Leftovers reheat well for lunches or next-day dinners.
