Description

This Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake is a flavor-packed, easy-to-make twist on traditional sushi. Layers of seasoned sushi rice, spicy salmon, and creamy toppings make it perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice, uncooked
  • 2.5 cups water
  • ยผ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skinless and diced
  • ยฝ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ยฝ cup green onions, chopped, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into small strips
  • Tobiko, optional for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix diced salmon, mayonnaise, Sriracha, sesame oil, and green onions.
  4. Spread the salmon mixture evenly over the rice.
  5. Bake uncovered for 15โ€“20 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  6. Garnish with nori strips, extra green onions, and tobiko if using. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the Sriracha to control spiciness.
  • Serve with soy sauce or extra mayo on the side.
  • Best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for 1โ€“2 days.
