Description
This Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake is a flavor-packed, easy-to-make twist on traditional sushi. Layers of seasoned sushi rice, spicy salmon, and creamy toppings make it perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sushi rice, uncooked
- 2.5 cups water
- ยผ cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skinless and diced
- ยฝ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- ยฝ cup green onions, chopped, plus extra for garnish
- 1 sheet nori, cut into small strips
- Tobiko, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then spread evenly in the baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix diced salmon, mayonnaise, Sriracha, sesame oil, and green onions.
- Spread the salmon mixture evenly over the rice.
- Bake uncovered for 15โ20 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
- Garnish with nori strips, extra green onions, and tobiko if using. Serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust the Sriracha to control spiciness.
- Serve with soy sauce or extra mayo on the side.
- Best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for 1โ2 days.
