Description

This Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake is a flavor-packed, easy-to-make twist on traditional sushi. Layers of seasoned sushi rice, spicy salmon, and creamy toppings make it perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice, uncooked
  • 2.5 cups water
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skinless and diced
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into small strips
  • Tobiko, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix diced salmon, mayonnaise, Sriracha, sesame oil, and green onions.
  4. Spread the salmon mixture evenly over the rice.
  5. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  6. Garnish with nori strips, extra green onions, and tobiko if using. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the Sriracha to control spiciness.
  • Serve with soy sauce or extra mayo on the side.
  • Best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for 1–2 days.
